Green Lantern & Star Sapphire
Green Lantern: New Guardians #0 isn't an origin story like some of the other zero issues in the New 52, but more like an intermission before #13 because it picks ups directly after #12. The New Guardians have disbanded and Kyle Rayner has to return home to get help from Hal Jordan to stop the Guardians. Events of the current Green Lantern series are crossing over here through Carol Ferris's perspective as she is trying to figure out what happened to Hal and Sinestro, so Kyle comes to her to know the whereabouts of Hal. Little does he know that both Hal and Sinestro were taking steps of their own to stop the Guardians. So this issue basically centers around Carol learning about Kyle's recent bearing of all the other Lantern rings. Since he is been considered the torchbearer, Carol uses her Star Sapphire powers to show him his potential future of harnessing the entire emotional spectrum. With that Carol will be joining Green Lantern: New Guardians in this next arc.

Kyle is destined for greatness
Even though the story in the issue was very good, the only bad thing about it is that its just centered around Star Sapphire Ferris and Green Lantern Rayner. I understand from the last issue, the team disbanded because they all figured out that they formed together in a murderous way by Sayd, but it leaves a couple of questions that I thought would be answered in the zero issue: How will Arkillo save the Sinestro Corps? How do the Blue Lanterns regroup after Odym is invaded by the Reach? Since Kyle Rayner is on a quest of mastering all the emotions, will he be the one to save the other Corps?

Overall the series has been well written. It is a good prologue for the Third Army event that's gonna crossover with the other Green Lantern books. The zero issue is a great starting point because it briefly sums up on what happened to Kyle during his run in the series. The artwork is great in this issue especially in the page where he peeks into his future of becoming the "Everything" Lantern, which looks AMAZING.  His suits for the different Lantern Corps are drawn perfectly.  I can't wait to see what's in store for Kyle Rayner and the New Guardians.  I hope he continues to lead the team!

5/5 overall.
